Green Point opener Patrick van Niekerk slammed two sixes and two fours off the first three overs after being put in to bat, giving his side a barnstorming start with 37 on the board after four overs.
Neil Eksteen then followed up to provide the backbone of the Green Point innings, cracking four sixes and four fours in his 52-ball knock of 71.
Ultimately though, Cape Town opening bowler Alex Draai bowled a superb final over of the innings to deny Green Point a big finish, capturing three wickets in the over to finish with a career-best Cape Town return.
Chasing a daunting target, Cape Town opening bat Jamie Marillier kept them up with the asking rate from the outset, striking three fours in an over and then a six – before attempting one big shot too many.
Thereafter, the experience of Mathew Goles meant that a Cape Town victory became ever more evident, as he struck four sixes and three fours in charging to an unbeaten 67 from just 44 balls faced.
Josh Chippendale was the other half of a glorious 114-run stand in just twelve overs with Mathew Goles that swept Cape Town to victory, Chippendale striking four sixes and four fours of his own as he finished with 58 from 39 balls.
