Cape Town opening bowler Darren Rolfe overcame an initial promising Rondebosch start to claim two wickets in his second over.

 

Schaughn van Greunen launched an effective counter-attack for Rondebosch while it lasted, striking four sixes and a four in 24 balls before being castled.

 

Matthew Olsen’s off-breaks captured two scalps in three balls for Cape Town, reducing Rondebosch to 71-5.

 

Rondebosch skipper Alistair Gray helped stabilise his side’s innings after a frenetic start, but managed to find the boundary just once in his seven-over stay.

 

Marco Wyngaard batted through the Rondebosch innings as from the eighth over, finishing with 36 from 27 balls.

 

Luke Stevens hit three sixes in an over at the tail end of the Rondebosch innings, to help lift the total to something defendable.

 

Opening bat Mathew Goles grabbed the Rondebosch bowling by the scruff of the neck from the outset, putting Cape Town on course for victory with his 69 from 47 balls, with four sixes and six fours.

 

Fletcha Middleton then saw Cape Town home with his second fifty of the day, striking the winning runs to finish with 54 from 33 balls, with three sixes and five fours.
