Ismael September opened the bowling for Kraaifontein with his gentle medium-pacers, but needed just 2.2 overs to pick up the first three wickets to fall.

 

Fletcha Middleton reached his first fifty for Cape Town with some aggressive strokeplay, cracking five sixes and four fours in his 27-ball knock of 55.

 

Kraaifontein off-spinner Arno Pekeur broke a threatening fourth-wicket stand, en route to a respectable return of 2/19 from his four overs.

 

Cape Town ‘keeper Nathan Schultz hit 24 in sharing a 68-run fourth-wicket stand in eight overs with Fletcha Middleton.

 

Craig Jeffery made an encouraging 21 from twelve balls in his return to the cape Town First XI.

 

Ashley Cupido wrapped up the Cape Town innings with three quick wickets, as the batters were largely unsuccessful in going after his part-time off-breaks.

 

Kraaifontein opening bat Rodney Mafudza prevented Cape Town from ever really controlling his side’s run chase, hitting two sixes and seven four in his unbeaten 52-ball knock of 75.

 

Skipper Darryl Losper finished matters off for his side with three late sixes in four balls, powering Kraaifontein to a seven-wicket victory with his 34 from 18 balls.
