The driving force behind Rondebosch’s huge total, opening bat Travis Norris hit his first ball for four – and didn’t stop thereafter until he had powered himself to a dominant 141 from just 127 balls faced, striking seven sixes and 13 fours.
Home team skipper Lenert van Wyk took a while to get going initially, but contributed a solid 31 while adding 85 in 18½ overs with Travis Norris for the second wicket.
Rondebosch’s provincial batter Josh van Heerden kept the momentum going with a bright knock of 34 from 26 balls in the middle overs, hitting a six and five fours.
Cape Town leg-spinner Craig Jeffery bowled a decent opening spell despite the home side’s dominance with the bat, and picked up two of the first three wickets to fall.

With his team chasing almost 6½ runs an over from ball one, Cape Town captain Tristan Coetzee came out all guns blazing, hitting six quick fours before getting out.
Opening bowler Cameron Fraser won his duel with an aggressive Cape Town top order, picking up the first two wickets to fall in his first five overs.
With the Cape Town innings beginning to falter at 82-3, the responsibility of righting the ship fell on the shoulders of opener Josh Chippendale – who batted through to the 29th over in making 91 from 93 balls, hitting two sixes and 14 fours.

Rondebosch part-time leg-spinner Kashief Joseph survived conceding 17 from his first over to tip the scales irretrievably in the home side’s favour, picking up the scalps of both Cape Town top-scorers in a three-wicket contribution.
Michal Lord hit a breezy 22 from 21 balls as Cape Town’s innings began petering out, – until his dismissal triggered a dramatic end to proceedings.
After a largely abortive first spell, Rondebosch quickie Raeeq Daniels returned to finish the game in spectacular fashion – knocking over the last three wickets in a single over to seal a comprehensive win.
