Cape Town opening bowler Brendan Young destroyed the Brackenfell top order after they had elected to bat first on a pitch offering the seamers plenty of pace and bounce, and he needed just 32 deliveries to claim the first four wickets to fall.
Nicholas Scott then came on as first change and only added to the visitors’ misery, bagging the first three of the four scalps that he would collect himself inside his first five overs.
Brackenfell number nine bat Stefan Joubert hit four fours in offering a measure of late resistance, helping the last three wickets to virtually double the total.
Opening bat William Hantam took no chances of anything going wrong in chasing down their small target, twice hitting three fours in an over as he charged to 39 from 31 balls.
His opening partner Mathew Goles then saw Cape Town safely home, hitting a six and five fours in a composed 39 to still be there at the end.
