WPCC skipper Derek Mitchell snatched the initiative for his side from the outset, cracking four sixes and four fours in his 56-ball knock of 55 at the top of the order.
Givon Christian then built on the foundation that Mitchell had provided, occupying the crease for more than 30 overs to provide the required continuity for WPCC with a solid fifty of his own.
Justin Broad then provided the third half-century of the WPC innings, hitting five fours along the way.
Cape Town opening bowler Darren Rolfe struck in consecutive overs around the start of the final PowerPlay to prevent the visitors from running away with things, in the process bagging his 350th scalp for the Cape Town First XI.
Nicholas Scott also picked up a brace of wickets, bowling impressively until the wheels came off at the very end.
Jordan Woolf added the finishing touches in the end though to give WPCC a daunting total, cracking three of the five sixes conceded in the final two overs to finish with 37 from 24 balls.
Opening bowler Luke Petersen then followed up his cavalier 17 from 10 balls at the end of the WPCC innings with an opening spell of 6-2-15-2, to help demolish the home side’s top order.
Kyle Klein was equally equally effective with the new ball for WPCC at the other end, taking two scalps of his own as the home side crashed to 26-4.
With the middle order exposed, leg-spinner Justin Behrens then ran through the second half of the Cape Town batting line-up to complete a five-for.
Cape Town wicket-keeper Nathan Schultz stood alone as all crumbled at the other end, cracking six fours before being left stranded on an undefeated 35.
