Brackenfell opening bat Cody Nieuwoudt gave his side a bright start after being asked to bat first, striking six fours in his 40 from 38 balls.
Rushdi Jappie then built on a decent opening stand by adding 20 runs of his own, as he helped advance Brackenfell to 80-1.
Brackenfell keeper-batter Denver Klue added the middle order substance to their innings, striking three sixes and a four in his 58 from 82 balls.
Home team skipper Lee-Roy Walters hit a solid 45 of his own for Brackenfell, adding 90 in 21 overs for the fourth wicket with Denver Klue.
Opening bowler Alex Draai finished well for Cape Town, following a double-wicket maiden in his penultimate over with a third wicket in the final over of the Brackenfell innings, to end with 3-45.
Left-arm spinner Dayyaan Behardien took the new ball and destroyed the Cape Town top order before their run chase could even get started, going on to collect 5-23 from his ten overs.
Josh Chippendale provided the only contribution of any note amongst Cape Town’s top nine batters, resisting for 20 overs as he pieced together 25 from 64 balls.
Rushdi Jappie then ran through the second half of Cape Town’s batting to seal the outcome, eventually collecting 4-29 with his off breaks.
All that then remained was for Michal Lord to have a little fun at the death for Cape Town, hitting out to strike a six and five fours in a bit of defiance that brought him 37 from 23 balls.
