Lukanyo Metu provided another useful contribution for Cape Town from his new number three spot, striking five fours in his 28 as he helped Hilio de Abreu add 60 for the second wicket.

 

Also in an unaccustomed role as opener, Hilio de Abreu produced Cape Town’s sole innings of substance in a 35-over vigil that brought him 64 from 106 balls, with five fours.

 

Victoria leg-spinner Warren Ekstraal took 4-24 from his ten overs, triggering a major collapse that cost Cape Town their last six wickets for just 13 runs.

 

Jordan Fourie’s off breaks picked up two economical wickets for Victoria as well, finishing off the Cape Town innings.

 

Jordan Fourie then continued with the bat where he had left off with the ball, scoring a competent 25 in adding 56 for the first Victoria wicket.

 

Adam Constant was the other half of a solid Victoria opening stand, striking three fours in his 26.

 

Craig Jeffery gave Cape Town a moment of hope when his legbreaks picked up the first two of his three wickets in quick succession, but it was too little too late.

 

Victoria captain Marco Wyngaard finished off the game in authoritative fashion, cracking five sixes and a four in his unbeaten 52 from just 41 balls.
