A solid and rapid second innings batting effort sustained all the way down the order, followed by career-best bowling from Matthew Olsen, enabled Cape Town to convert a situation of virtual first-innings parity into an ultimately comprehensive win over Tygerberg in the home side's final Two-Day fixture of the season. The net result was a fourth-place finish on the 1B log for Cape Town, a comfortable enough spot but one which nevertheless has delayed their hopes of a return to the 1A for another season at least.   Read More...

A poor first-innings batting performance by Cape Town put them on the back foot for the remainder of the match. The resultant first innings deficit ultimately proved too large an obstacle for the home side to overcome, enabling Pinelands to easily stroll to the sixth victory of their Two-Day campaign - one which put them squarely in the frame for League honours and immediate promotion back to the 1A next season, with just one round of matches left to play.   Read More...

A devastating spell of swing bowling from Andre Olwagen routed Primrose's second innings in truly remarkable fashion, allowing Cape Town to round off a highly successful month of January with their second big Two-Day win from as many matches. Their first Two-Day victory over the Kenilworth-based outfit since they first met in the 2002/03 season thus cemented Cape Town's third-place spot on the 1B table, but could not do more as Police and Pinelands also won their matches in this round to maintain their respective first- and second-placed spots.   Read More...

Enjoying a healthy 112-run first-innings lead by stumps on the first day's play after brilliant innings by Dominic Telo and Jonathan Holgate had negated what would otherwise have been a solid first innings total by Somerset West, Cape Town's bowlers then needed less than 25 overs in which to roll the visitors on the second morning - thereby completing an emphatic innings victory half an hour before lunch on the second day.   Read More...
