Cape Town's 2007 leg of the season ended quietly in anti-climatic fashion, when the entire second day's play was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch at the Pinelands Oval. The no-result represented Cape Town's fifth successive draw in the Two-Day competition, and with five matches remaining and only one win to their credit, they will need to work hard in the new year to avoid being one of the three teams relegated at the end of the season.   Read More...

For the fourth successive time, Cape Town had to settle for the lesser share of the bonus points in a drawn match, continuing their gradual slide into the bottom half of the 1A log. On this occasion a lack of bowling firepower in batsmen-friendly conditions forced them to rely on Bellville to set a victory target, and when it finally came it was none too generous.   Read More...

For the second time in two days Cape Town came within touching distance of an outright win, but once again couldn't quite get there. Set virtually an identical target to the one they themselves gave Durbanville just the day before, albeit in far better batting conditions, Cape Town got to within 20 runs of the finish line before having to abandon the chase to prevent Claremont from snatching a win at the death themselves.   Read More...

Durbanville's last-wicket pair survived 51 deliveries to force a draw and deny Cape Town the victory that their off-spin duo had bowled them to the very brink of. A magnificent rearguard action by Cape Town's lower middle order halted a strong Primrose charge for victory midway through the second day, saving the game for the home side by ultimately pushing the resultant target beyond Primrose's reach. For Cape Town though, the draw was still a moral victory of sorts, having lost to Primrose in every one of their encounters over the past five seasons going into this match.   Read More...
