The Cape Town Cricket Club First XI's hugely successful 2009/10 season ultimately ended on a rather disappointing note, as their last chance of claiming one of the three trophies that just two weeks previously had all still been available to them, now also slipped away. Cape Town reached their third Limited Overs Final in six seasons with a great all-round performance in their semi-final clash with Durbanville at the Ed Fivaz Oval, defeating their hosts by a comfortable 50-run margin to maintain their unbeaten run in this competition. Their third 1A scalp of the season has thus booked them a spot in the prestigious day-night showdown at Sahara Park Newlands on 31 March, where they will take on Police, the current favourites for the 1A title, for the final piece of silverware on offer in the season's concluding match.   Read More...

Cape Town remained on course for winning all three competitions this season, overcoming their final Pool opponent with a convincing win over an under-strength University of the Western Cape side in Bellville South. The victory gave Cape Town their second 1A scalp of the season, rounding off a perfect four wins out of four in the round-robin phase of the competition and booking their semi-final place as the winners of Pool D - despite a round of matches still remaining for the other teams to play.   Read More...
