Having already secured top spot in their Group's points table the previous afternoon by defeating Pinelands, the result of Cape Town's final pool match against Primrose was consequently reduced to one of just academic interest. In what became the decisive clash to determine who would top the Group A points table, it was Cape Town who ultimately prevailed over Pinelands - the only other unbeaten side in the group. Having won all of their first three matches, Pinelands had already booked their place in the Semi-Finals regardless of the result, so once Primrose's challenge had effectively ended earlier in the day when they contrived to lose narrowly to the hitherto winless Glamorgan, Cape Town's own subsequent third-straight win assured them of top spot in the Group - regardless of the outcome of their remaining match against Primrose the next day.   Read More...

Cape Town made it a thumpingly successful first day of the 2009/10 AMA20/20 competition for themselves, crushing Tygerberg by 62 runs in their afternoon match at the PP Smit Complex in Bellville to compliment their earlier victory over Glamorgan.   Read More...
